Elizabeth Stankiewicz, nee Streckfusz, 97, passed away peacefully Friday, January 6, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and care givers. Beloved wife of the late Andrew John Stankiewicz. Loving mother of of Janice (Richard) Hauser, and Andrew (Kyra) Stankiewicz. Cherished grandmother of Lynette (Tim) Toussaint, Jaimee (Don) Corcoran, Cheryl (Brandon) Thomas, Trisha (Gerry) Marchand, Steven (Julie) Stankiewicz, Michael (Caren) Stankiewicz, Kristin Stankiewicz, Jacob (Robyn) Morgan and David Morgan. Devoted great-grandmother of Brandon, Ryan, Cameron, Hunter, Nicole, Lia, Parker, Tyler, Carter, Amaya, Molly, Grayson, Charlotte, Maxwell, Wesley, Lucas, Shaylynn, Nathan, and Zachary. Fond aunt of many. Preceded in death by her parents Christ and Barbara Streckfusz, and her sisters Anna Marak, Frances Polster, and Florence Nick.
Elizabeth was born December 5, 1919 in Chicago.
Elizabeth was a lover of birds, stitching, and The Chicago Cubs. She made dozens of quilts for her family, whom she loved more than anything.
Visitation Tuesday, 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd (at Northwest Hwy) Mt. Prospect. Visitation continues Wednesday, 10:00 A.M. until funeral services 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery
